Prof. Laufer, how you summarize the \“Health situation\“ after the team of \“New Life\“ consulted such a serious number of couples with fertility problems?
– What I saw as a trend, it is the age of the couples who came to us. In Bulgaria, as in Europe, young women are involved in creating of career and their profession. So they postpone having children. As a result we have reduced success rate of assisted reproductive procedures.
Presenting this picture, we can say that the ratio between women and men with fertility problems is equal.
– What the team of \“New Life\“ and you can advise those couples?
– I will Advise women not to delay. The possibility of pregnancy becomes smaller after each year. They must clearly realize the consequences of this delay. Again I repeat – IVF is a great opportunity, but should not be postponed – the success of the process highly depends on the age.
– Do you think that there is a difference in what you see here, and in Israel? And if there is – what is it?
– The difference is that the couples in Israel seek specialist help and come much faster once they understand that they have a problem – within a year, year and a half after unsuccessful attempts. And here – couples are seeking advice and assistance aftert 4-5 years, which is too much. But this is the moment to say something important for me while I was with the team of \“New Life\“ – it was a great pleasure to work with the bulgarian patients. It felt like
