Consultation with a Urologist
If there is a deviation from normal semen parameters or if the microbiological smear of the ejaculate is not sterile, patients are usually referred for a consultation and/or an examination with a urologist. If the cause of the male factor infertility is known, the urologist will start treating it. Even if the cause is unknown or is not subjected to treatment (e.g. advanced age), the urologist can prescribe certain medications and dietary supplements which have a positive impact on the process of spermatogenesis.
