Prof. I. Dechev
Urologist
One of the leading urologists in our country – prof. doc. Ivan Dechev graduated first in his high school class. His university career was no less impressive – after gaining an honours degree in Medicine from the Medical University of Plovdiv, he went on to do two residency training – in Urology and Oncology, respectively.
Since 1980 he has been lecturing at the Medical University of Plovdiv, Department of Urology. At the university he holds the following teaching positions – chief of practical exercises, lecturer, consultant for the students, residency trainees and PhD candidates, scientific supervisor. In 2014 he was appointed head of the Department of Urology at UMBAL Sveti Georgi, Plovdiv.
Prof. Dechev is also a republican consultant in urology, chairman of the First Oncologic Committee for the Treatment of Solid Tumors at UMBAL Sveti Georgi.
His scientific interests are concentrated in the fields of Onco-urology, Epidemiology of Malignant Urogenital Tumors, Andrology and the Application of Information Technology in the field of Medicine.
