THE CERVIX
The cervix and cervical mucus undergo changes throughout the menstrual cycle. During ovulation cervical mucus becomes more permeable, which allows sperm cells to penetrate it in order to reach the Fallopian tube. A variety of factors can contribute to a change in the content and quality of cervical mucus.
